Five area school districts in Texas to receive funding for cooling and heating system in schools reports AshevilleDiscounthvac.com

(USGovernment-News.Com, September 11, 2012 ) San Francisco, CA - The federal government has announced a huge grant to five area school districts in Texas to address the issue of poor cooling and heating systems. According to a recent report, the state of Texas will receive sufficient funds for five area school districts from federal stimulus money to install new or upgrade the heating and cooling systems in schools as per the requirement.

It was reported that all of the 400 districts in the state applied for the grant for Texas Cool Schools to get their old ventilation, heating systems and air-conditioning systems replaced with new ones. However, 74 districts received grants and five are now getting their money.

The Superintendent of Woodsboro, Steven Self, was quite relieved after receiving the grant. He was was pushing hard to get the 20-year old cooling system replaced because it was hardly working.

"This grant was like a lifesaver. That's the only way, really, unless you take a huge chunk out of your funds balance. In this day and age, it's very difficult to do that. These are the things there's just not enough money for." Steve said, according to caller.com

Among the districts which are getting funds from the federal stimulus money are Robstown, Ricardo, Sinton and Kingsville. The Independent school district of Robstown received the leading award of $1.9 million, which is just shy of the maximum $2 million they could have received.

An English teacher from Robstown high school, Bert Ybarra, told Rachel Denny of Caller-Times said that the air-conditioning of the school has not worked since last year and he had to turn off the lights in the classroom in order to cope with the agonizing heat.

The announcement of getting funds for the cooling system is definitely a huge relief for the five area school districts of Texas. Other districts hope to get their grants soon as well.
