Candidate for Twp Clerk, Imbronone, Exposes Failures of Board's "Streamlined" Policy to Stimulate Business Growth

(EMAILWIRE.COM, July 25, 2012 ) Macomb, MI – Challenging for Township Clerk, candidate Cathy Imbronone took questions from Macomb Township voters at the Clinton-Macomb Public Library about her plans to restore integrity and trust to the board.

In light of recent allegations of election fraud and a law suit, any political Township outsider would realize that the current Board’s use of the term “Streamlined” government is a euphemism for corrupt power.

Ms Imbronone used a common sense attitude to avoid being baited into arguments by the incumbent, Michael Koehs. She remained respectful throughout the proceedings; and when it became her time to respond, it was obvious to all observers that her preparation was up to the task of exposing the failures of Koehs’ office ever since his appointment to Township Clerk 15 years ago.

Macomb citizens believe that Koehs’ appointment to Township Clerk plus the perplexing fact that he has never been opposed in any election, has dulled his sense of obligation and service to them. Yet, even more perplexing is the statement of fact from Koehs himself, in that, if he succeeds for another four-year term, he will quit!

The conclusion can now be made that “lame-duck” Koehs, who has been comfortable making decisions in the “back room” and using nepotism and favoritism in the appointments of many Township employees, would serve his final term as Clerk unabashed towards self-serving, political decisions.

Koehs allows Dunn's dubious petition signatures

The Koehs’ political machine is already experiencing blowback from alleged election fraud. According to an article in the Oakland Press on July 23, 2012, “…Macomb Township residents now must sort through sordid allegations that supervisor candidate Janet Dunn won a spot on the August primary ballot through fraudulent actions by Clerk Mike Koehs.”

The accusations began flying last week when a township business owner, Mark Maiuri, filed a lawsuit claiming that Dunn’s petition signatures to gain ballot access contained “extensive fraud” and that township officials were relying upon their attorneys to cover up the matter.”

The Oakland Press article continues, “According to the documentation submitted, Dunn, 71, solely collected all of her 200-plus petition signatures in one day, on May 14, the day before the candidate filing deadline.

A key player in this story is John Johnson, founder of the Macomb First Business Alliance and campaign manager for several anti-Dunn candidates. Johnson concedes that it’s too late to knock Dunn off the ballot. ‘Nobody wants Janet Dunn to go to jail. But this shines a light on the way they do things over there at the township hall where they often manipulate the process,’” Johnson said.
