Szantho Law Firm Represents Two Realtors Suing Over Val Kilmer Ranch Sale

(USGovernment-News.Com, June 27, 2012 ) SANTA FE, NM -- The Szantho Law Firm, P.C. is representing plaintiffs Robert Jacobs and Pam Sawyer in a lawsuit to sue Sotheby’s International Realty on the charge that the two realtors were not paid promised commissions for the sale of movie buff Val Kilmer’s ranch property near Rowe. Both Santa Fe realtors state Kilmer signed a listing agreement with them, Darlene Streit and Sotheby's International Realty on Feb. 11, 2011 and upon sale of the property, the commissions were not fulfilled.

The Szantho Law Firm filed a complaint for unspecified damages on behalf of Jacobs and Sawyer on Jan. 11, 2012, and will represent them in court at the beginning of next year. After founding the Szantho Law Firm, P.C. in 2007, Mr. Szantho has focused his practice to include criminal defense as well as personal injury and civil litigation. Since that time, he has had a wide influence, successfully helping hundreds of clients with a variety of complaints.

The Kilmer property in question was put on the market in 2009 for a price of $33 million. The property included 5,330 acres of land and a 10-bedroom, 11,573-square-foot house. After a hearing during which Kilmer proceeded to explain his derogatory comments about the residents of New Mexico, he dropped the price of the ranch to $23 million. The ranch was bought last year by a Texas oil executive for $18.5 million.

The complaint originally named Kevin Bobolsky, Christopher Cortazzo, Tommy Gardner, Greg Antonsen, Coldwell Banker and Sotheby's International Realty as defendants, but since then, all defendants, with the exception of Sotheby’s International Realty, were dismissed without prejudice. The case number is as follows: D-101-CV-201200131. Trial proceedings are currently ongoing. The Szantho Law Firm specializes in Personal Injury and can be reached at www.szantholaw.com.
