(EMAILWIRE.COM, November 27, 2011 ) New York, NY -- The SSX game franchise is back for another round, with an all new game coming out in 2012 for the XBox 360 and PS3 consoles. It has the same over-the-top arcade-style trick and racing snowboard gameplay that made the franchise famous. Rather than having fictional courses like the ones featured in previous games, this new game uses real-world NASA topographical data to let players experience snowboarding on nine of the most iconic mountain ranges from Antarctica to the Himalayas.
In the new SSX game, there will be a number of veteran playable characters characters returning as well as the addition of some new ones including Tane Mumea, Alexis Moreau, Ty Thorsen and Travis Rice. Other notable differences include the ability to harness the power of the current generation of consoles, letting players ride and trick off almost anything in the environment without the restriction of invisible walls and barriers.
SSX gameplay consists of helicopter drops, avalanches, and upgradeable gear that includes wingsuits and boards of varying speeds. The new and improved SSX game will take players on a real thrill ride across the globe. Be sure to get the game when it comes out, the SSX release date will be on February 14, 2012.
