BP Claims Dissatisfaction Grows

(EMAILWIRE.COM, November 12, 2011 ) Pensacola, Florida -- People are showing contempt for the BP Claims system and the GCCF is showing contempt for people. Victims of the BP Oil Spill are standing up together to protest how the GCCF is handling the BP Claims process. Claimants are dissatisfied and disgusted with Feinberg and the GCCF stalling and denying their claims.

The GCCF was started by BP and the White House to handle oil spill claims fairly and impartially. 20 Billion dollars was set aside to compensate the losses people suffered and to clean up our gulf coast waters. Kenneth Feinberg was appointed to oversee the Oil Spill settlements and at first, claims were being paid out quickly. Now claims are being delayed, denied, and in some cases payments have come to a complete stand still.

Protestors gathered and marched in D.C. Monday led by, Dick Gregory former comedian/actor and Art Rocker the chairman of Operation People for Peace, in hopes that President Obama will investigate into how Kenneth Feinberg and the GCCF are handling claims. People are done waiting on the GCCF and are taking action and demanding results.

While claimants are marching in D.C. we move a little closer to home. The citizens of St. Bernard Parish are rallying together to petition that their local GCCF office remains open. Gulf Coast Claims Facility is closing 8 more GCCF offices which will make it even more challenging for people to file their BP Claims. These offices were opened to help victims file their claims, get status reports, and get answers to questions. Most of the citizens in St. Bernard Parish count on the Gulf of Mexico for their livelihood, and a large number of them have still not been paid. Fishermen and shrimpers may be looking at years before they are able to make a living off the Gulf of Mexico, resources and the compensation from BP may be the only thing that will keep them afloat till then.

The BP claims process has been difficult and overwhelming to claimants and closing their local GCCF offices is going to make matters worse. People are rising up and demanding their fair compensation and the GCCF is not caving. While people are loosing their homes and businesses, Feinberg and the GCCF are pulling every trick in the book to keep from paying out these victims. The Gulf Coast Claims process is going to continue to get more difficult as the GCCF and BP continue their unfair delay and deny tactics.
