The protection of food supplies and water are often considered a critical part of Biodefense. Owing to the increasing threat of terrorism and bioterrorism, the risk posed by exposure to biological agents that can be used as biological weapons must be evaluated. Biological agents used in warfare may prove to be more potent than conventional weapons.
