PGC Creative Partners with Customer Research International, Inc. on Quality of Life Community Planning Index

(EMAILWIRE.COM, August 18, 2010 ) Austin, Texas – August 18, 2010 - PGC Creative and Texas based Customer Research International, Inc. today announced the release of a new syndicated research product, the Quality of Life Index, a community planning tool that helps city leaders identify community development priorities based on citizen preferences.

The Quality of Life Index community planning tool offers cities the ability to obtain citizen input by polling local residents about aspects of their communities that are most important to their quality of life. Each community is just as unique as the as the people, places, landscape and resources that influence its quality of life. The Quality of Life Index gives community leaders the answers they need for effective community planning based on research data provided direct from residents.

Citizen feedback is often a key component missing in community development planning efforts due to a lack of effective, affordable mechanisms to obtain citizen opinions. Recognizing this gap, CRI and PGC decided to form a strategic alliance to address the need. Identifying citizen preferences and priorities for key quality of life issues using a standardized index gives community leaders a real edge in the planning process, removing the guesswork from the process of learning what is really important to the community for future growth and development.

Quality of life is a major factor in attracting new residents and businesses to a city. The first step is determining what quality of life means for a particular community is to standardize the concept. The CRI Quality of Life Index includes standard modules such as growth, land use, economy, lifestyle and leisure, sustainability, green initiatives, the environment and crime and safety. After CRI completes the survey and publishes the findings, PGC helps cities effectively communicate their Quality of Life Index results to the community through branding and marketing strategies used to promote the community image and attract new residents and businesses to the area.

“Many cities are turning to professional marketing and research firms because they lack the time and staff to effectively market themselves.” said CEO Sha Embree of PGC Creative. “As competition increases for new residents and businesses, it becomes clear how much a professional edge can sharpen your image with a consistent, compelling message and put you a step ahead of other cities competing for the same things.”

Utilizing a professional marketing firm can relieve burdens on the city, the Economic Development Corporation and Convention and Visitors Bureau by presenting a unified public image and avoiding duplication of effort, saving valuable city staff time and resources for other tasks.
