Morgan & Morgan Attorneys Alexander Clem and Keith Mitnik Recover $1.35 Million Verdict for Motorcycle Accident Victim

(EMAILWIRE.COM, May 24, 2010 ) Sanford, FL - Alexander Clem and Keith Mitnik, attorneys at Morgan & Morgan, obtained a $1.35 million verdict for their client Randall Hobbs in a motorcycle accident lawsuit. Mr. Hobbs sustained a closed head injury when his motorcycle collided with another vehicle.

On January 13, 2007, Mr. Hobbs was riding his motorcycle westbound on State Road 434. An SUV driven by Kara Adams changed lanes in front of him, causing him to collide with the rear of the SUV. As a result of the collision, Mr. Hobbs and his passenger, Laura Barkman, were thrown from the motorcycle. Both Both of them suffered closed head injuries.

The frontal lobe injuries sustained by Mr. Hobbs resulted in cognitive deficits and diminished mental capacity. Although Mr. Hobbs is capable of working as a construction laborer, he will never return to his former position as a construction superintendent. During the seven day trial, the defense attempted to argue that Mr. HobbsÂ’ closed head injuries were the result of his failure to wear a helmet. However, Mr. HobbsÂ’ attorneys successfully argued that the injuries were caused by the brain rebounding inside the skull, and a Seminole County jury awarded Mr. Hobbs $1,335,593.19.

This case was handled by Alexander Clem and Keith Mitnik of Morgan and MorganÂ’s Orlando office. Mr. Clem is a member of the Florida Justice Association, the Million Dollar Advocates Forum, the Florida Bar, and the American Bar Association.
