Mr. Morgan is currently representing Zenaida Gonzalez, the woman falsely accused of kidnapping Caylee Anthony, in a defamation suit against CayleeÂ’s mother, Casey Anthony.
WHAT: When Casey Anthony reported that her 3-year-old daughter Caylee was missing, she told authorities that Caylee was in the custody of her babysitter Zenaida Gonzalez (or “Zanny the Nanny”) at the time of her disappearance. However, as the investigation into Caylee’s alleged kidnapping unfolded, authorities began to suspect Casey herself was the person responsible for her daughter’s disappearance. In October 2008, Casey Anthony was charged with first degree murder and several additional charges related to Caylee’s disappearance. Caylee’s death was confirmed in December 2008 when her remains were found near her home.
