(USGovernment-News.Com, October 06, 2016 ) Concord, NH -- The Boston Globe reports that the rampant increase in overdoses in Massachusetts is caused by use of illegal drugs, not prescription painkillers. Research of the over 2,000 people who died between 2013 and 2014 of overdose found that 85 percent died due to heroin or Fentanyl while 8.3 percent died because of prescription opioid abuse. The current explosion of overdoses in the New England area was not included in this study.
