Drug and Alcohol Rehab Denver Introduces Cannabis Addiction Treatment

(USGovernment-News.Com, March 08, 2016 ) Denver, CO -- About 9 percent of marijuana and cannabis users will become addicted to the substance according to the National Institute on Drug Abuse. The legalization of recreational marijuana has allowed the number of cannabis users to increase exponentially. Some cannabis edibles are not yet required to adhere to state regulations, and there have been instances of hospitalization and emergency care due to excessive doses of THC. Drug and Alcohol Rehab Denver have developed a new cannabis addiction treatment track to address cannabis substance use disorders.

The new cannabis treatment track focuses on cognitive behavioral therapy to help users understand the internal conflicts and causes of marijuana use. Topics include feelings of loneliness, isolation, nervousness, anxiety, sleeplessness, lack of appetite, and social expectations. Cannabis addiction treatment also focuses on remedying harmful home environments conducive to relapse and continued use of marijuana.

Treatment provides some discussion of responsible use of marijuana, but is generally discouraged for those exhibiting chronic addiction. Those who are not medically deemed addicted to marijuana are welcomed to participate in any level of treatment including inpatient medical detox, inpatient rehabilitation, outpatient rehabilitation, and partial hospitalization treatment to help treat co-occurring mental health disorders and understanding marijuana use on a cellular, psychological, and psycilogical level.

Drug and Alcohol Rehab Denver provides client specific treatment for cannabis substance use disorders, general drug rehab in Denver programs, and heroin rehab in Denver. Each treatment plan focuses on the travails of each addictive substance and provides actionable solutions for clients before, during, and after rehabilitation.

Focusing both on one on one therapy and group therapies clients learn how to combat cravings to prepare for independent living. The facility provides 24 hour medical and psychiatric care coupled with weekly events and social outings. Behavioral techs provide transportation to and from locations of interest, including off site physician visits for conditions which may have gone unaddressed for a prolonged period of time.
