Florida Highway Patrol Officer Provides Alcohol to Underage Teens, Miami Drug Rehab Responds

(USGovernment-News.Com, March 08, 2016 ) Miami, FL -- According to News4Jax, a Florida state highway patrol officer has lost his job and is facing charges after he reportedly provided alcohol to two underage teenage girls. 43 year old Charles Lee, Jr. is accused of having an inappropriate relationship with a teenage girl when her father discovered illicit texts on her phone. He also discovered pictures of his daughter holding bottles of alcohol with Lee in the background. Throughout the investigation leading to Lee's termination and charges, officers spoke to both girls involved and their parents, eventually learning that Lee arrived at one of the girls' homes while her mother was away, providing alcohol to the two teens. Lee did not speak to the officers during the investigation.

Miami Drug Rehab, a provider of alcohol treatment in Miami, finds these allegations to be disturbing to say the least; as an officer of the law, Lee's duty is to help prevent substance abuse among the young and impressionable. Too often the clients of Miami Drug Rehab who enter treatment for alcohol abuse begin at a young age due to ready access in the home or supply from an adult. Regardless of his position, Lee is aware of the law regarding underaged drinking and should face the ramifications of his actions.

A representative of Miami Drug Rehab comments,

"Social acceptance of drinking and the misconception that alcohol is safe leads some adults to believe it is okay to supply younger people with drinks. They believe that the damage is negligible, or that their supervision is enough to deem it okay. This is most definitely not the case: not only are younger people more susceptible to the effects of alcohol, but it also leaves them open to being taken advantage of by those around them that may mean them harm. Patrol officer Charles Lee, Jr. exemplifies such a character, and should face the consequences of his actions to the full extent of the law."
