Columba Bush Prioritizes Fight Against Drug Addiction, Miami Drug Rehab Comments

(USGovernment-News.Com, September 10, 2015 ) Miami, Florida -- CBS Miami reports that Columba Bush, wife of former Florida governor and presidential hopeful Jeb Bush, has announced her continued efforts toward vanquishing the stigmas associated with addiction and ending the epidemic of addiction in the United States. Miami Drug Rehab is a drug rehabilitation center servicing south Florida and all of the United States. As a rehabilitation center dedicated to eradicating the substance abuse disorder sweeping across the country, Miami Drug Rehab supports Columba Bush's campaign to prioritize drug reform.

During Jeb Bush's reign as governor of Florida, Columba spearheaded efforts to combat the state's substance abuse problems which became a personal fight when her daughter, Noelle Bush, was arrested for possession of illicit substances in 2002. At the time of the arrest, Columba accredited her daughter's struggles as the result of being born into a political family. Noelle was sentenced to a rehabilitation program, but subsequently jailed for less than two weeks after crack cocaine was discovered in her shoe during treatment. Noelle completed her rehabilitation sentence in August of 2003, but her mother recently opened up about continued struggles, saying helping her daughter recover is a "lifetime challenge."

In an op-ed for the Las Vegas Review-Journal, Columba Bush calls for attention to the growing heroin and prescription painkiller abuse pandemic. She calls for education and increased awareness as a countermeasure for further spread of addiction:

"I believe that education is prevention, and we should use our voices to raise awareness and stop this epidemic that is crippling our communities, our state, and our nation."

Bush goes on to stay that while governor of Florida, Jeb increased funding for substance abuse treatment centers including heroin rehab in Miami and other addiction treatment in Miami.

An associate of Miami Drug Rehab comments,

"With the political alight with pending reform and presidential candidates announcing their alignments on the 'big issues', Columba Bush's commitment to drawing the necessary attention and support the battle to end addiction is admirable. Though she has received criticism in recent months for her supposed lack of political presence, Columba Bush has proven herself a committed and conscientious ally to facilities offering addiction treatment in Miami and across the country. Her personal story of addiction's effects on her family and views is relatable for those who may not be struggling with substance abuse disorders themselves but have witnessed the disease as an outsider. These people are valuable assets in the fight to prevent and conquer addiction. Miami Drug Rehab shares her philosophy of education and awareness as a preventive measure; eradication of addiction and substance abuse stigmas is the first step to ending the silent epidemic that is slowly consuming the country. Though president Barack Obama has introduced the conversation of drug crime reform into national political circuits, it is the work of Columba Bush and advocates like her that will help the United States actualize the legal and social amendments necessary to potentially help millions who suffer in silence."
