Snow in Spokane : Swapp Talks Safety

(USGovernment-News.Com, January 15, 2015 ) Spokane, WA -- The beginning of January 2015 started out rough on the roads of Spokane County, Washington. Ice and snow caused the roads to become so slick that over thirty crashes occurred in this county within a single morning.

The Washington State Patrol mentioned that, fortunately, the majority of these wrecks did not involve injuries, although there were some that certainly did.

Trooper Jeff Sevigney, a Washington State Trooper, advises to residents, “Being patient is the key when you're driving in the snow.”

Spokane car accident lawyer, Craig Swapp and his team of associates contribute their advice, as well. Here’s what the team of attorneys have to say about driving in snow and/or ice.

1. Make sure your car is completely cleared of any accumulated snow or ice. This includes windows, lights, tires and the roof.

2. Avoid bridges – they freeze first due to the exposure to cold both above and below it. If you normally take bridges, think of an alternate route ahead of time.

3. Slow down. Keep in mind, speed limits are intended for normal road conditions.

4. Leave extra room between cars, so if one starts to slip, there may be enough space to avoid a collision.

5. Break early and slowly. This may help avoid slipping, and gives extra room in case it does happen.

For injured victims of car accidents, Craig Swapp & Associates are providing free consultations. Phone lines have officially been set to stay open 24 hours a day, and a representative can be reached by dialing (509) 822-5882 or by visiting http://www.craigswapp.com/spokane/car-accident-lawyer/.
