(USGovernment-News.Com, October 20, 2014 ) Former Craig Swapp & Associates Chief Litigation Officer Roger Griffin was nominated by Utah Governor Gary Herbert this month as the governor’s choice for the previously open 4th District Judgeship. Roger has been very thankful for his opportunity and hopes to serve Utah Citizens to the best of his ability. His nomination lasted until being confirmed by the Utah State Senate in July.
Roger Griffin was unanimously confirmed by the state Senate on July 16th and his final day at the firm was on August 15th. Upon leaving the firm and accepting the position, Roger took on his new duties. “We hate to lose Roger and his capabilities,” says Craig Swapp, “but we fully understand that a judgeship is an important career opportunity for any attorney and a great honor. I speak for the entire firm in saying that we’re proud of Roger and wish him all the best with his confirmation.”
After a very tedious process of filling out applications, background checks and multiple interviews, including one with the governor himself with the final decision. “I was impressed with Governor Herbert,” says Roger, “Although he took the interview very seriously, he was also funny and personable.”
Roger said of his becoming judge, “I am deeply honored by the confidence and trust Governor Herbert has shown in appointing me to the Fourth District. I look forward to serving the citizens of the district and the entire state and will always strive to follow the law and serve with impartiality and fairness."
The law office of Craig Swapp & Associates congratulates Mr. Griffin on his new position. For more information about the firm, visit http://www.craigswapp.com
