About the book
Endura is at war. An enemy known as the Volrathi has sailed across the Infinite Sea from an unmapped realm, burning their ships once making land and destroying anything in their path. Amoria, Endura's mightiest nation, has met them on the flatlands in what was to be the largest battle in history...and they're losing. Amoria's soldiers are being butchered, their mages crushed, and their dragons on the verge of annihilation. An Amorian scholar carrying an artifact of tremendous power is spirited away from the frontlines before the army's collapse, protected by only a few members of the King's legendary light cavalry, including Amoria's champion swordsman, Kreiden Baelik.
Soon the carnage of war spreads to the heart of Amoria itself where the Kreiden's wife must fight to escape a capitol that is under siege, closely guarded by a young one-handed warrior who once fought for the same nation which is now burning all around them. In the meantime, a small group of Amorian youths who are still in training for the King's infantry learn of their nation's defeat and begin to wage their own war against the Volrathi who now occupy the forests and mountains of their homeland. All struggle to survive the best they can, and as the grip of winter slowly tightens around Endura each are drawn together by more than mere chance.

D.A. Stone currently lives in Philadelphia where he keeps good friends close as family. Raised on stories of fantasy, science fiction, and horror from an early age, he continues to expand his horizons into other genres, though his heart will always be in fantasy. He firmly believes that there can be reality in fantasy tales, that there can be truth. Finding it can be one challenge and delivering it on the page can be another, but as in all creative mediums, the pursuit of that truth is essential.
