(USGovernment-News.Com, April 16, 2014 ) Dallas, TX -- Broden & Mickelsen, a Dallas based criminal defense and appeals law firm, has announced a scholarship for Texas law students currently employed or pursuing employment with a Federal or State Public Defender’s Office.
Both Clint Broden and Mick Mickelsen served in the Federal Public Defender Office in Dallas and the Northern District of Texas before founding Broden & Mickelsen in 1998. In the years they served as assistants, Clint and Mick gained insight into virtually every federal criminal case. The two Federal and Texas criminal defense attorneys would like to reward students who also wish to pursue this important career path.
“Often students are led apply for internships with big law firms for the wrong reasons,” said Mick Mickelsen. “We strongly believe in serving at State and Federal Public Defender Offices, as the experience is incomparable. To offset the costs of more lucrative opportunities, we will reward law students who fit the criteria with a $1500 scholarship.”
