(USGovernment-News.Com, October 03, 2013 ) Charleston, WV - C.R. Bard Inc. has agreed to settle with the plaintiff in the second transvaginal mesh trial scheduled before the United States District Judge Joseph Goodwin.
The Bell Law Firm has reached a settlement in the federal transvaginal mesh case of Wanda Queen vs. C.R. Bard for an undisclosed amount. Queen had suffered from complications due to the plastic implant used to help with her pelvic organ prolapse.
In another case, which was the second of four trials scheduled before the United States District Judge Joseph Goodwin, it involved claims from a North Carolina woman who had suffered from permanent vaginal mesh injuries caused by the company’s Avaulta Solo Anterior Synthetic Support System.
Reports indicate that the trial ended a week earlier than expected with a $2 million damage award to the plaintiff from a jury in West Virginia holding C.R. Bard liable for the injuries.
According to Bloomberg.com, C.R. Bard is facing over 5,000 transvaginal mesh lawsuits, many of which have been filed in the federal proceeding underway in the United States District Court, Southern District of West Virginia.
