(USGovernment-News.Com, September 26, 2013 ) Savannah, GA – On Tuesday afternoon a Georgia Power Company worker was electrocuted while working on power lines in the Port Wentworth area.
According to reports the accident happened after noon time when the subcontractor was raised in a bucket to work on the power lines near Bonnybridge Road on Georgia State Route 21. According to his co-workers, something went wrong and a jolt of electricity when through the worker. The man was brought down by his co-workers who performed CPR and used an automated external defibrillator (AED) to revive him.
By the time emergency services arrived and he was taken away the man had a pulse and was breathing on his own.
“If he survives, the only reason is because his co-workers knew what to do,” Port Wentworth Police Chief Matt Libby told the Savannah Morning News.
No other information on the man’s condition at a local area hospital was made available.
