(USGovernment-News.Com, September 21, 2013 ) CINCINNATI, OH — The students of St. Francis DeSales High School in Delaware County celebrated the life of their beloved track coach, Bob Lennon, during a track meet at Whetstone High School Wednesday, September 18 after learning he had been killed in a hit-and-run accident Sunday.
Assistant Coach Emily Rizek stressed that the students were not in mourning, but attempting to honor Lennon’s memory as they each wore a picture of him on the back of their uniform during the meet. In addition the runners wore black armbands in remembrance of Lennon, who was said to have been, “probably the most caring person I’ve ever met,” according to Rizek.
Drivers who are involved in hit-and-run crashes are not only risking the life of the person they hit, but they are going to suffer serious legal consequences for leaving the scene of an accident— an act that is illegal in Ohio.
