(USGovernment-News.Com, September 19, 2013 ) Rock Springs, AZ – Early Wednesday morning a woman was killed when she stopped her vehicle on Interstate 17 following a collision involved cattle just north of Phoenix.
A truck driver reported that the woman was driving a pickup truck when she struck a cow with the vehicle. Once he saw the collision, he pulled over to help the woman when another semi-truck came over the ridge striking the cow and woman’s pickup truck at full speed into the woman.
The woman was killed instantly while the other two in the pickup truck were injured along with the driver of the semi-truck which originally pulled over to help the woman.
This accident caused traffic to backup for eight miles and required drivers to wait for hours as there was no alternative route around the scene. Southbound traffic was not affected by the collision.
