(USGovernment-News.Com, September 19, 2013 ) Savannah, GA – An eight-year-old girl from Effingham County remains in the hospital after suffering serious injuries caused by a vicious dog attack on Friday evening. The child’s arm was nearly torn off in the attack and she was in and out of consciousness at the hospital.
Tori Menisus was playing in David Arnsdorff’s yard with his children when their family pitbull bit the young girl. Arnsdorff said it was an accident and that the dog bit the young girl because she walked too closely to the pitbull during feeding time.
Janet Leggett, the victim’s grandmother says the dog was provoked by neighborhood kids and alleges that one child told the dog to “sick” young Tori.
The Effingham County Sheriff's Office is still investigating the attack and believes the dog may have been provoked by the other children. Arnsdorff was not required to get rid of the dog but chose to give it to the Humane Society shortly after the attack.
Meanwhile Tori Menisus has undergone two surgeries to repair the damage to her arm and according to her family she will have to receive skin grafts as well. Although she was supposed to be released from the hospital early this week it is now unknown when she will be out.
