(USGovernment-News.Com, September 14, 2013 ) RALEIGH, N.C. — From August 16 through September 2, the North Carolina Department of Transportation “Booze It and Lose It” campaign focused on finding and eliminating drunken drivers from roads and highways across the state, and the final numbers show a marked effort by officials to do so.
According to statistics, Wade County had the highest amount of DWI arrests with 257, followed by Guilford County with 220 and Mecklenburg County with 181. In total, 2,886 people were arrested over the course of the campaign, which included the most dangerous weekend in the year, Labor Day weekend.
Drunken driving offenses are not only serious legal offenses but the death and destruction they cause can be catastrophic. If you or a loved one was injured by a drunken driver, you may have a claim for personal injury or wrongful death.
