(USGovernment-News.Com, September 04, 2013 ) Savannah, GA – According to the Georgia State Patrol there were 14 car accident related fatalities over the holiday weekend. State troopers responded to at least 10 of the 14 fatalities reported between Friday and Monday evening.
Authorities responded to approximately 443 car accidents over the weekend which resulted in 226 car accident injuries. Furthermore, about 225 persons were arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence.
According to the Governor’s Office of Highway Safety in Georgia, car collisions most commonly occur between 11a.m and 4p.m. on Fridays, however fatal crashes are more likely to happen overnight on Saturdays leading into Sunday morning.
