Tax Free Weekend 2013 includes electronics in Florida

Unknown to most people it is not practiced in all of the states in the union and currently for the year 2013 only eighteen states are participating in this micro holiday.



There are a few different type of events that signify tax free weekend ranging from regular merchandise, electronics, and energy star products based upon respective state laws and locality. Louisiana-(August 2-3 for purchases under $2,500 and it does not include taxable services, automobiles nor meals), Maryland-(August 11-17 for clothing priced at $100 or less), Mississippi-(July 26-27 for clothing items that are priced under $100), Missouri-(August 2-4 for clothing under $100, school supplies under $50, computer software under $350, and computer equipment under $3,500).



New Mexico-(August 2-4 for clothing under $100, school supplies under $15, computers under $1000, and computer equipment under $500), North Carolina-(August 2-4 for clothing and school supplies under $100, sporting equipment under $50, computers under $3,500, and computer equipment under $250), Oklahoma-(August 2-4 for clothing priced under $100), South Carolina-(August 2-4 for clothing, accessories, school supplies, computers, computer equipment and there is no specialized price restrictions on items like in other states.



Tennessee-(clothing and school supplies under $100 and computers under $1,500), Texas-(August 9-11 for clothing and school supplies under $100), Vermont-(August 10- 11 details on the state website), and Virginia-(August 2-4 for clothing under $100 and school supplies under $20).



Tax free weekend has always been considered a big help for consumers and of course the retailers. North Carolina considers the holiday to be a significant loss of revenue for the state so 2013 is considered to be North Carolinas last tax free holiday weekend.
