Robert, 65, and Irene, 69, were riding with the nonprofit cycling organization Tour Du Canada when an eastbound pickup truck collided with them, then crashed into two oncoming vehicles— one another pickup truck, the other a tractor trailer.
“Our condolences go out to their families and friends,” said a spokeswoman for Cycle Canada, an organization that offers administrative support to Tour Du Canada.
Tour Du Canada Executive Director Bud Jorgensen said that the Booths were life-long advocates of healthy living and that Bob was taking his second cross-Canada ride at the time of their death.
