(USGovernment-News.Com, July 24, 2013 ) PHOENIX, AZ – Phillips Law Group, a well-known local Phoenix law firm, warns families to stop using Baby Einstein Musical Motion Activity Jumpers immediately. Over 400,000 of the baby products are being recalled in the U.S. and Canada by Kids II of Atlanta, GA. The company has received 100 incident reports including 61 injuries from the “sun” toy attached to the jumper rebounding with force.
Reported injuries to infants include bruises, facial lacerations and in one instance, a 7-month-old boy who suffered a lineal skull fracture; one adult sustained a chipped tooth.
The recall includes defective products with model number 60564, which can be found on a tag on the underside of the product’s seat. All of the jumpers manufactured prior to November 2011 are affected, which includes the following date codes: OD0, OE0, OF0, OG0, OH0, OI0, OJ0, OK0, OL0, OA1, AB1, AC1, AD1, AE1, AF1, AG1, AH1, AI1, OJ1 and OK1. The date code is located on a sewn-in label on the back of the product’s blue seat pad, in the lower right corner.
The jumpers have a large white metal frame with a support seat. The stationary activity centers include a variety of toys of bright colors surrounding the seat. The “sun” toy is yellow and is attached to the seat’s frame on a flexible piece covered in brightly colored rings.
The baby products were manufactured in China and sold by Target, Toys ‘R’ Us and other retailers, as well as on Amazon.com, between May 2010 and May 2013 for the approximate retail price of $90. Purchasers of the product should stop using it immediately. Consumers may contact Kids II for a replacement “sun” attachment by calling (877)325-7056 toll-free from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. ET, Monday – Friday.
