(USGovernment-News.Com, July 23, 2013 ) Old Saybrook, CT Sunday evening police received a call about a car accident on private property on VFW Highway. According to authorities 42-year-old John Shepard was behind the wheel of his Jeep Wrangler when it crashed. His passenger, Leah Coleman, 49, received medical care on the scene of the accident and was transported to Middlesex Medical Center.
Unfortunately Coleman succumbed to her injuries and passed away. Shepard was arrested for driving under the influence and was released on bond; he is scheduled to appear in court later this month.
The crash is still under investigation and authorities are asking anyone with information about the accident to contact Detective Sergeant Heiney at 860-395-3142.
