(USGovernment-News.Com, July 12, 2013 ) Atlanta, GA – Early Tuesday morning as four Brooks County High School football players were making their way to practice, they struck a tree instantly killing three of the players and throwing the fourth out of the car. The fourth player was quickly flown to the nearest hospital and remains in critical condition.
It is not clear who was driving the vehicle at the time of the accident; however the hearts of the community feel for the loss of their innocent students. One of these students was a standout football star last season and was a first team all-region defensive lineman. The team also has a 12-1 season last year and had their best record dating back to 1959.
Unfortunately teen driving accidents are the leading cause of death for teenagers across the United States. Drivers between the age of 16 and 19 have the highest average of crash and traffic violations of any other age group. This is due to a number of different reasons including:
• Distracted by passengers • Driving at night • Driving under the influence • Failing to wear seatbelts • Lack of driving skills • Lack of hazard detection • Low perception of risks • Texting while driving
