(USGovernment-News.Com, June 19, 2013 ) BIRMINGHAM, AL Three varieties of baby bath seats were recalled yesterday because the seats failed to meet federal safety standards and posed a risk for drowning because of instability that caused the seats to tip over. The seats were sold by Buy Buy Baby, Chelsea & Scott and BeBeLove at online retailers and in retail stores.
Buy Buy Baby is recalling approximately 34,000 of its Idea Baby Bath Seats, which were sold online at buybuybaby.com and bedbathbeyond.com, as well as in retail locations for the chains, from September 2012 April 2013 for approximately $40. Consumers in possession of the recalled bath seats should return the product to Buy Buy Baby stores (if bought online or in the chains retail locations), or to the Bed, Bath & Beyond store where purchased to receive a store credit.
Chelsea & Scott is recalling about 2,000 of its Idea Baby Bath Seats, which are similar in model to the Buy Buy Baby models. The products were sold exclusively on onestepahead.com from February 2013 May 2013, for approximately $40. Those in possession of the faulty bath seat should contact Chelsea & Scott at (866)271-4536 to obtain instructions to receive a full refund.
BeBeLove is recalling approximately 5,600 of its Baby Bath Seats, which were sold by several online retailers, including Amazon.com, Diapers.com and Overstock.com, from May 2011 November 2012. Prices for the seats were between $19 and $30. Consumers may contact BeBeLove to receive a full refund by calling (888)464-1218 or visiting bebeloveusa.com.
