(USGovernment-News.Com, May 31, 2013 ) Selma, NC – On Highway 96 north near Antioch Church Road a single vehicle car crash on Wednesday afternoon left four people injured and 20-month-old Madison Alaina Creech dead. According to reports the driver, Latrisha Slack, lost control of the car which then careened off the highway, hit a tree, and flipped over.
Slack, two men, and another infant strapped in a car seat were able to get out of the car quickly but Madison was pinned in the vehicle. Rescue crews arrived to the scene soon shortly after the wreck and 45 minutes later the young girl was transported to Duke Trauma Center with critical injuries. She passed away later that evening.
The other four passengers were taken to WakeMed by ambulance to get treated for their injuries. Authorities have charged Latrisha Slack with speeding and death by motor vehicle.
