(USGovernment-News.Com, May 21, 2013 ) Dothan, AL -- To address these various barriers to stability and independence associated with homelessness, the Georgia Law Center (GLC) provides high-quality, free civil legal services to their clients to help usher them on their path out of homelessness. Three decades ago, several attorneys working in the Atlanta area organized a nonprofit organization to fulfill the needs of the homeless population in their city by providing specialized legal services. In order to connect with their client base, the paralegals, staff and the attorneys of GLC regularly go to community food pantries and kitchens, shelters, and transitional housing facilities.
The Georgia Law Center not only offers their homeless clients legal services, but also provides access to beneficial social and case management services. These services offer assistance regarding housing, child care, mental health and substance abuse treatment, and Veterans services. Intake hours at the Georgia Law Center for the Homeless are on Mondays from 9 am to noon and on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 1 to 4 pm. Intake hours are held at the Woodruff Volunteer Service Center located at 100 Edgewood Ave NE, Suite 1625, Atlanta, GA 30303.
