(USGovernment-News.Com, May 07, 2013 ) WEST PALM BEACH, FL – An unidentified person is in the hospital after being stabbed on Sunday during the closing day of SunFest, a 5-day concert series that takes place in downtown West Palm Beach each spring. There are no known suspects, but the victim is expected to survive the assault.
No details were provided by the police chief, except that the incident occurred during one of two rap concerts taking place Sunday evening, placing the time of the incident between 6:00 and 9:00 pm. The annual event draws crowds of 30,000 – 40,000 during weekend festivities.
“There’s no way in the world (to have a suspect),” said chief of police Vince Demasi, “It’s part of a larger issue that we’re going to have to sit down with the event promoters and review safety.” Chief Demasi went on to say that he has many concerns with what he saw while attending the event for the first time as acting chief. Demasi was sworn in during the fall of 2012.
