(USGovernment-News.Com, May 02, 2013 ) Bridgeport, CT A toddler has been critically injured by a hit and run driver on Tuesday around 9 PM. Police are continuing to search for this reckless driver and any information regarding this case would be helpful.
Reports indicate that the mother was parked on the side of the road in the process of getting her two children out of the vehicle. She was holding one of her childs hand outside of the vehicle while helping the other child out of the car.
During this time a passing car struck the child standing next to the vehicle and failed to stop. The two year old suffered a serious head trauma and was rushed to the hospital in critical condition.
The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration reported that 11 percent of traffic accidents in the United States, each year, involved a hit and run driver. These drivers are classified as a motorist that strikes another person or vehicle and flees the scene without checking for damages, injuries, or death.
