Vector Marketing Complaints Being Reviewed by Class Action Attorneys

(USGovernment-News.Com, May 02, 2013 ) New York, NY – The attorneys working with ClassAction.org are available to review complaints from consumers who participated in Vector Marketing’s initial training sessions to learn how to sell Cutco knives. Vector Marketing was alleged to have violated federal and state laws when it failed to pay employees for time spent during initial training sessions, according to a prior class action lawsuit filed in California. Although this case has since been resolved, the attorneys working with ClassAction.org would like to hear from consumers in other states to determine whether they have been denied payment for this initial training time. For more information, please visit http://www.classaction.org/vector-marketing.html today.

According to a federal law known as the Fair Labor Standards Act, employees must be compensated for all time considered to be “hours worked.” In general, if an employer requires or allows its employees to work, the time spent is “hours worked.” According to a U.S. Department of Labor fact sheet, an employer can deny payment for time spent at training programs only if four specific criteria are met: the training is voluntary; the training is not work-related; the training occurs outside normal hours; and no other work is concurrently performed during this time. It was alleged that Vector Marketing was required to pay its workers at least the minimum wage for the three to five days spent during initial training sessions, but neglected to do so, according to the previous California class action.

The attorneys working with ClassAction.org are trying to determine whether another class action lawsuit can be filed against Vector Marketing, and need to hear from former trainees and employees to assist in their investigation. If you underwent initial training for the sale of Cutco knives, our attorneys would like to hear from you today – even if you never started selling the knives. Please visit ClassAction.org today for more information.
