Greg Coleman Law Informs Drivers about New ‘SaferCar’ App by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration

(USGovernment-News.Com, March 23, 2013 ) Knoxville, TN - The U.S. Department of Transportation’s National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) has created a new iOS app available for iPhones and iPod Touch devices. The app provides consumers the latest up-to-date safety information and has several safety features most everyone can use.

“This app takes advantage of the latest technology to ensure that consumers have the real-time information they need to buy safe, drive safe and stay safe.” said U.S. Transportation Secretary Ray LaHood in a public statement.

The NHTSA app provides the following features:

• Safety Ratings. Consumers can look up and compare crash test ratings for all makes and models.

• Recalls and Complaints. Receive instant information about recalls and file your own complaint using your mobile device.

• Child Safety Seat Assistance. If you need assistance in ensuring that your child safety seat is installed properly the app can help you locate certified technicians that may inspect the child seat for free.

• Safety Headlines and Alerts. Consumers can read all the most recent recall and safety information headlines by using the app.

For those interested in using the app, it is free to download and use. Upon downloading it users can create their own profile and include the make and year of the vehicle they drive in order to receive instant recall notifications.

If you or a loved one has been injured by a defective child car seat design or in an auto accident caused by defective vehicle components, the injured may be entitled to compensation for medical bills, pain and suffering, property damage, and more.
