The areas police departments have stated that they will be enforcing a zero-tolerance policy for all driving violations and will not be issuing any warnings.
Local police departments will have random road safety checkpoints at various locations around town. These measures will be taken to keep our roads safe during this holiday. It is expected for individuals to have fun, however, it is highly advised not to drink and drive. Instead, use an alternate option and assign a designated driver or use a taxi. In addition, there are programs set up to take you and your car home.
Looking back at previous years, in 2011 there were 190 total arrests made at the festival, while in 2012 numbers greatly decreased to 17. Of course, the 2011 festival lasted four days and most of the arrests were made nearing the end of the festival.
