Wechner remarked, “A lot of people are becoming small business owners today for all sorts of reasons – the tightened economy reducing jobs with larger companies being one of the major reasons. Many of these people who want to transition from being an employee to a business owner know their technical skills, but they don’t really understand how to market those technical skills so that other people know to contact them to solve their problems. They never had to worry about that when they were employees, but they suddenly have to consider that now that they’re business owners. Many of these people aren’t really prepared.”
