Kirschner has been named Chair of the Illinois Carnival Amusement Safety Board, which advises the Illinois Department of Labor on carnival and amusement safety issues. Kirschner was appointed to the Board by Governor Pat Quinn in 2010.

My hope is that through the important work of this Board, I will never have to look into the eyes of another grieving parent,” Dan Kirschner said. “Across the Midwest, from Illinois to Wisconsin and Indiana, I have represented individuals injured at carnivals, water parks and haunted houses, involving foreseeable incidents which were readily preventable, and I would not be fulfilling my commitment to my clients if I did not do more to keep it from happening to someone else,” Mr. Kirschner added.
By statute, the Carnival-Amusement Safety Board is comprised of eight members, including the Director of the IL Department of Labor, an operator of amusement rides, a registered professional engineer, an insurance industry representative and representatives of the general public, of which Mr. Kirschner is one.
Mr. Kirschner, who practices in the area of plaintiffÂ’s personal injury law , was also recently named an Illinois Super Lawyer for 2012, a designation given to less than 5% of attorneys in the state. Mr. Kirschner is a graduate of the Chicago-Kent College of Law and is an active member of many bar associations. He is a past Co-Chair of the Young Lawyers Committee of the Illinois Trial Lawyers Association and served as an investigator for the Chicago Bar AssociationÂ’s Judicial Evaluation Committee.
Mr. Kirschner has been involved in numerous community and charitable organizations over the years. In recognition of his leadership on the American Cancer Society’s Chicago Region Board, Mr. Kirschner was presented with the President’s Award for Advocate of the Year by the American Cancer Society for his successful advocacy efforts promoting the City of Chicago’s Comprehensive Indoor Clean Air Ordinance, known as “’Smoke-Free Chicago.” He currently serves as Chair of the Chicago Regional Board of the American Cancer Society.
