Ingo Beauty Salons Stands Up For Hair Stylists Against Indiana Bill

(EMAILWIRE.COM, January 30, 2012 ) Indianapolis, IN -- There is a new Indiana Bill pending that may change the way someone shops for a hair stylist. The bill proposes opening up professions which require licensing such barbers, hair stylists and cosmetologists. Hair dressers are hopeful that their protesting paid off but they still feel a threat that wonÂ’t go away until the bill is actually taken off the table.

Nice hair is important to many, seeing that it’s one of the things people notice on someone. Nicki Berotto, marketing director at Ingo Beauty Salons states, “I believe that the bill is like a two-sided coin. On one hand, it would increase the amount of jobs in a poor economy, but on the other hand, it could put our hairstyles at risk. That is why we (Ingo Beauty Salons) are against such bill.”

Ingo Beauty Salons has a directory of professional salons listed on their website. They are a fully social beauty salon directory where visitors can interact with each other and salon owners, while reviewing hair salons in Indianapolis and many other cities. Consumers can do their own research and browse salon reviews until they find the right one to trust with cutting their hair.

Such bill would create many new jobs and due to the increased competition in the market, certified hairdressers and non-certified stylists are likely to start charging less. On the flipside, those that don’t have the official training and experience on hairstyling may end up doing more harm than good, especially when dealing with chemicals for services like a Brazilian Blowout and the sort. They would be more likely to “mess up” a haircut or color, than someone who spent months of training.

This goes to show how consumers need to do their research, in order to weed out the good ones. Nicki continues, "The good thing is that due to the Internet, consumers can actually research a salon service before trying it out, so they would still be able to figure out who the true professional stylists are".

As it stands, certified professionals are taking action and giving a voice to kill the bill. Having this license gives hairstylists the right to work on peopleÂ’s hair and having the appropriate training would certainly prevent mistakes from happening. Giving everyone the right to work on hair would have the opposite effect. Furthermore, if such a bill were to pass in Indiana, then Indianapolis or Fort Wayne hair salons would just be the first to be affected, but it may also expand to other states, and go national.
