Actos Class Action Lawsuits: Ontario Superior Court

(EMAILWIRE.COM, December 28, 2011 ) Pensacola, FL -- Actos class action lawsuits will no doubt grow in numbers after a law firm filed a suit against the Manufacturer Takeda Pharmaceuticals and Eli Lilly the company in charge of the distribution of Actos in the United States. The suit was filed for a woman who took Actos for two years, contracted Bladder Cancer and now has died as a result. The U.S. and Canada have not suspended the sales of Actos as of yet but have required Takeda to put a black box warning label on the drug warning people of the dangerous and possibly fatal side effects of Actos.

Takeda Showed Negligence to Their Patients

Takeda Pharmaceuticals has profited millions of dollars from sales of Actos, making over 4.5 billion dollars last year. Actos is prescribed to patients who are suffering from Type II diabetes. After Avandia was taken off the shelves for causing a higher risk of heart complications, Actos sales soared and millions were prescribed the drug. There is already a large lawsuit against GlaxoSmithKline that is still in progress. Many European countries have already taken Actos off their shelves because of the 250,000 cases of possible Actos Bladder Cancer just in France. Takeda is sure to expect a larger lawsuit because of the millions affected by their negligence of releasing the drug before testing was done. Avandia and Actos Class Action Lawsuits are being filed to help people gain compensation for the suffering they endured from the side effects of these medications.
