(EMAILWIRE.COM, November 10, 2011 ) New York, NY - The Darkness 2 is the much anticipated sequel to the critically acclaimed 2007 video game The Darkness which was inspired by the popular comic book series. It picks up where the original game left off, following the life of Jackie Estacado who is head of a New York crime family. With a twisted and brutal storyline, this modern crime drama becomes a more graphic and intense first person shooter game.
The Darkness 2 game is written by Paul Jenkins, who also wrote the story for the first game. However this time around the sequel is not developed by Starbreeze. As more and more first person shooter games have become increasingly visual, providing a better gaming experience, a lot of advancements have been made to this follow-up game which is developed by Take 2.
The game takes place approximately two years after the first Darkness game. Be prepared for a lot of gore as Jackie Estacado tries to fight the darkness within himself and his enemies at the same time. The Darkness 2 will be available for the XBox 360, PS3 and PC. The official The Darkness 2 release date is set for February 7, 2012.
