New Jersey Immigration Lawyer Featured Live on Lawline.com

(EMAILWIRE.COM, September 03, 2011 ) Newark, NJ -- "Immigration Detention: From Pickup to Release" featuring immigration lawyer Harlan York airs live at 1pm Sept 1st on Lawline.com. This is a free CLE Webcast, with replays available later in the month.

When an immigrant is detained, the three main questions that are often asked are: What is the distinction between criminal and non-criminal detention? Is he a candidate for bond? And how will detention impact his chances of overcoming removal? Immigration lawyer Harlan York will cover these topics and much more in a one hour lecture that covers a most timely subject.

Harlan York is a Former Immigration Chair of the New Jersey State Bar Association. His full service immigration law firm, Harlan York and Associates, is located in Newark. The three attorneys at the firm appear regularly at Immigration Courts and Immigration Service offices in New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania and Connecticut. The firm handles all immigration matters, particularly Deportation and Detention, Federal Appeals, Visa Petitions, Permanent Residence Applications, Citizenship, Employment and Family Based Immigration, as well as all Applications for Victims of Violence.

Listed in Best Lawyers in America, Mr. York has appeared as an immigration law professional on National TV for Primer Impacto on Univision, as well as speaking on immigration topics on Telemundo/NBC, the NJ Network/PBS and News 12 New Jersey.

Mr. York frequently lectures on Immigration Law, including recently at the Rutgers Law Symposium on Comprehensive Immigration Reform. He has spoken at events sponsored by the New Jersey State Bar Foundation and Federal Bar Association. Mr. York was also a Judge at the American Mock Trial Tournament at Yale University. His most recent Lawline.com Lecture, "U Visas: Benefits for Battered Immigrant Women and Other Crime Victims" is available online.
