China Commercial Vehicle Production to Grow 7% CAGR

(EMAILWIRE.COM, June 23, 2010 ) New Delhi, India - According to our latest research report “China Automobile Sector Forecast to 2012”, China produced a total of 9.3 Million vehicles in 2008, surpassing the United States as the 2nd largest automobile maker after Japan. The country sustained its double digit automobile production growth in 2009 also on account of increasing domestic demand and surging exports. The commercial vehicle segment, which saw weak market performance across the world, experienced positive year-on-year growth in 2009. The research has further revealed that the segment will continue to post staggering market performance in the years to come on the basis of various supporting factors analyzed in the report.

The report has identified that China is planning to increase its expressway connectivity in rural and urban areas by 2010. The length of China expressway, as of 2007, was about 53,900 Km, and the government is planning to raise the connectivity to 65,000 Km by 2010 end. The improving transportation infrastructure is anticipated to trigger commercial vehicle demand in the country and will ultimately result in high commercial vehicle production.

Apart from commercial vehicles, other segments including passenger cars, alternative fuel vehicles, and two wheelers have also been experiencing rapid market developments for the past few years. Large population base, growing middle class population and rapid urbanization will further fuel demand for these automobile segments in coming years.
