SAN FRANCISCO – In 1970, the nation celebrated its first Earth Day and created the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency. Building from the passage of three monumental pieces of legislation: the Clean Air, Clean Water, and Endangered Species Acts, EPA has made great progress in cleaning up the environment and improving human health during the past forty years.
In celebration of the anniversary of Earth Day, EPA experts in the Pacific Southwest Region are scheduling interviews interviews to raise awareness on important issues all week. EPA officials from across the region will be available to discuss important local environmental issues in your community.
