Reglan works by speeding up the stomach muscles, allowing the stomach to empty more quickly into the intestines. Reglan and other metoclopramide-containing drugs are not recommended to be used longer than three months. Prescribed to more than 2 million Americans, metoclopramide-containing products include Reglan tablets, Reglan injections, Reglan oral disintegrating tablets and metoclopramide oral solution.
