Inmate Dies of Heroin Overdose in Palm Beach County, West Palm Beach Drug Rehab Responds

(USGovernment-News.Com, February 02, 2016 ) West Palm Beach, FL -- WPBF 25 News reports that the death of 21 year old Andrea Nicole Alvira while incarcerated in the Palm Beach County jail in early December was caused by a heroin overdose. The woman, who was not in possession of any drugs at the time of a body search, received the narcotics from another female inmate who was successful in passing her own body search. Alvira and several other women then snorted the heroin, which lead to cardiac arrest and her untimely death. Prison guards discovered more heroin on the inmate who initially smuggled in the lethal drug. Alvira, an alleged homeless sex worker, was in jail for second-degree murder after she killed a client during a violent exchange in 2014.

A leading provider of heroin rehab in West Palm Beach, West Palm Beach Drug Rehab understand the intensity of withdrawal symptoms and cravings. They also understand that each dose has the potential to kill, as the body reacts differently to the toxin each time it is ingested. Working directly with the population of people in West Palm Beach and across the country who are in need of rehabilitation, West Palm Beach Drug Rehab mourns for the lives ruined and lost to substance abuse.

A representative of Rehab-West-Palm-Beach comments,

"Despite her crimes, this is still a young life cut too short by a serious disease. Perhaps if she had been able to overcome her heroin abuse disorder prior to the events which lead to her arrest, Andrea Nicole Alvira could have lived a long and fulfilling life. Alvira was in need of help long before she arrived at the Palm Beach County jail; unfortunately she didn't receive it even after her incarceration. We must enact reformation on our prison systems and the general treatment of addiction to prevent such tragedies from happening again."
