Rise in Teenage Illicit Drug Use Via Hookah & E-Cigs Pose Threat

(USGovernment-News.Com, December 29, 2015 ) Orlando, FL -- Rates of teenagers' use of illicit substances in plain sight with the use of hookahs and electronic cigarettes are worrying Hillsborough law enforcement officers, who are struggling to keep up with tracking the instances of substance abuse endangering teens. Many teenagers in high school are smoking "dabs," or a concentration of THC- which is the primary catalyst inducing highs in marijuana. Law enforcement cites technology such as texting and mobile applications as roadblocks impeding their progression to stopping the behavior. Drug Rehab Orlando is a drug and alcohol rehab center dedicated to helping those with substance use disorders. The treatment center asserts age minimums should be put in place for hookahs and electronic cigarettes, akin to alcohol.

An associate from the rehabilitation center states, "It's not enough to trust our teenagers to smoke what is intended for hookahs and electronic cigarettes. At the end of the day most teens are often impulsive and curious, two things which can lead to experimenting with illicit substances, especially if their intimate social circles are experimenting. By taking the opportunity to facilitate drug use openly, we are able to somewhat mitigate instances of substance abuse.

"Although taking away these devices will not quell addiction and substance use entirely, these measures may dissuade those who would not have initially experimented from doing so. As for those who would have found addictive substances anyway, preventative measure in school must be taken to present substance use disorders in the rawness of the tragedies they reap on families and loved ones."

Offering drug rehab in Orlando and specializing in heroin rehab in Orlando , Drug Rehab Orlando helps people with substance use disorders complete detoxification and rehabilitation without having to change facilities. Treatment is focuses on cognitive behavioral therapy, which teaches clients how to change their behaviors and learn coping skills preventing instances of substance abuse.
