Trial of 81 Year Old Surgeon Shines Light on Black Market Industry, West Palm Beach Rehab Comments

(USGovernment-News.Com, September 10, 2015 ) West Palm Beach, Florida -- On August 24th, the trial of former surgeon Gerald Klein began in a Palm Beach County Courthouse. The 81 year old is facing a first degree murder charge for the death of Joey Bartolucci, who died of an overdose in February 2009. Klein is accused of providing the pain medication that resulted in Bertolucci's death through a pill mill operation. Klein worked for a West Palm Beach clinic and supplied Bertolucci as minute part of a $40 million empire organized by Jeff and Chris George. For only $150, clients gained access to dangerous and addictive medications such as opioids and anti-anxiety pills. West Palm Beach Drug Rehab, a facility offering addiction treatment in West Palm Beach, is disheartened by this case and others like it and urges legal intervention to prevent such abuse of the medical system.

A representative of West Palm Beach Drug Rehab comments,

"As an addiction treatment center in West Palm Beach, hearing of the Gerald Klein's malpractice and disservice to the area is disconcerting. As professionals in the medical field, Klein and his co-conspirators were held to a high standard and sworn to aiding the public. Unfortunately operations such as the one dismantled in Palm Beach County are relatively common; some doctors abandon their pledges for selfish gain. Due to the carelessness of these immoral doctors and nurses, West Palm Beach drug rehabs and organizations across the country are left struggling to accommodate the influx of substance abuse sufferers. We urge legislators and medical authorities to enact stricter policies and regulations to purge persons with malicious intent from the medical field. Doing so would greatly improve government funding of hospitals, clinics, and rehabilitation centers, allowing more people access to the treatment they need."
