Adolph Mongo Issues Challenge to Kid Rock Over Confederate Flag

(USGovernment-News.Com, July 27, 2015 ) Detroit, MI – Adolph Mongo, a well-known and respected fixture in Michigan politics and national civil rights, has issued an olive branch, of sorts, to the embattled rock singer/actor – Kid Rock. Mongo has challenged Kid Rock (who is known to perform on stage with the confederate flag as a backdrop) to take a stand against the hatred that the flag has symbolized for many many years.

“I understand that Kid Rock has said that he waves the confederate flag as an homage to Southern rock, and not as the banner for oppression and hatred that the majority of the country sees it as; so I am challenging him to publicly burn the confederate flag – not as the symbol of Southern rock, but as its long-established true symbolism,” said Mongo.

“Many of us who are asking for him to renounce this abomination, are just like Kid Rock; we live here in the great state of Michigan, we are proud to call ourselves Detroiters or Metro Detroiters, and some of us like Southern rock just as much, But we don't recognize that hateful flag.”

Mongo further asserts “if well-known entertainer, Kanye West flew the Nazi flag on the stage when he performed or wore the flag on his clothing, folks would be outraged and certainly not tolerate such behavior. His concerts would be boycotted and canceled as a result of public pressures. Kid Rock is really fortunate that more people have not denounced and protested his displays of the flag at his shows. Unfortunately, nine wonderful people had to lose their lives at the hand of a confederate flag-waving murderer for an outpouring of Americans to take a stand against this horrific symbol.”

“Although it's been said that Kid Rock has used the flag only as a representation of his 'love for Southern Rock,' he can clearly demonstrate his disapproval of the real message behind the flag by publicly burning it once and for all.”
